Concept of Damping Factor in SEO

The concept of Damping Factor or PR(Page Rank) was originally introduced by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996, hence, it is named after its developer, Larry Page. Page Rank is an algorithm designed for link analysis and is used by Google, a web and full text search engine.

According to this algorithm, a numerical value is assigned to each element of hyper-linked set of documents. The range of numerical value starts from 0 to 10. The value 0 indicates the lowest PR whereas the value 10 indicates the highest PR. The numerical value assigned to any given element E is referred to as Page Rank of E and is denoted as PR(E).

Note:- The value of incoming links is referred to as Google Juice or Link Juice or Page Rank Juice.
