of Damping Factor in SEO
The concept of
Damping Factor or PR(Page Rank) was originally introduced by Larry
Page and Sergey Brin in 1996, hence, it is named after its developer,
Larry Page. Page Rank is an algorithm designed for link analysis and
is used by Google, a web and full text search engine.
According
to
this
algorithm,
a
numerical
value
is
assigned
to
each
element
of
hyper-linked
set
of
documents.
The
range
of
numerical
value
starts
from
0
to
10.
The
value
0
indicates
the
lowest
PR
whereas
the
value
10
indicates
the
highest
PR.
The
numerical
value
assigned
to
any
given
element

is
referred
to
as
Page
Rank
of
E
and
is
denoted
as
PR(E).
